Krista Howard is an art advisor and is founder of HOWARD495, an art advisory firm and project space based in Vancouver, British Columbia. H495 assists both new and dedicated collectors with all aspects related to their art collecting needs. Acquisitions are approached with a critical and discerning eye, offering a customized and collaborative approach to the acquisition of art for both residential and commercial collections. Whether a single purchase, refreshment of an existing collection or a long-term art strategy, H495 provides complete discretion and an unbiased commitment to ensure client selections are guided by, and are a reflection of, each collector’s unique and distinctive aesthetic.

With 13 years of experience as an art advisor and over 3 decades as a private collector, Krista Howard travels regularly to attend art fairs, biennials, museum shows and gallery exhibitions. With regular monitoring of art schools, auctions, news and events, H495 stays current with developments and global changes in the art world. Long term relationships with dealers, gallerists, advisors, and auction house specialists provide H495 not only knowledge of, but access to, difficult to acquire sought after works from both emerging and established artists.
Housed within a project space H495 exhibits, for sale, a rotating, secondary market inventory of contemporary work by international and national artists at all junctures of their careers. HOWARD495 is dedicated to offering diverse art, across all disciplines, without compromise that is historically, socially and at times politically relevant and collectable today. H495 engages with artists, both established and emerging, and participates in both curatorial and special projects.

Krista Howard has a BA in Art History from the University of British Columbia, studied contemporary art at Sotheby’s NY and is in the process of obtaining her ISA Certification for Fine Art Appraisals. H495 offers all aspects of collecting, from research and education, to acquisition and installation.
